Chang Beer is Thailand's best-known lager and one of the country's most iconic exports. First brewed in 1995 in Ayutthaya Province, it's produced by Thai Beverage PLC (ThaiBev) using malted barley, rice and hops, styled as a pale lager with a light body, crisp flavour and refreshing finish. Its name comes from the Thai word for elephant, an animal of deep cultural significance in Thailand, reflected in the brand's two-elephant logo.
Chang has long rivalled Singha for the title of Thailand's most popular beer, and its balanced, easy-drinking profile has made it the classic companion to Thai cuisine worldwide. Tasting Notes Colour: Pale golden yellow with excellent clarity and a moderate white head. Nose: Light and grainy, with notes of pale malt, a subtle rice-driven sweetness, delicate floral hops and a faint citrus lift.
Palate: Light-bodied, crisp and clean. Gentle malt sweetness, drawn from its malted barley and rice blend, is balanced by mild hop bitterness, with a soft grainy character carrying through. Finish: Clean, crisp and refreshing, with a light lingering bitterness and a touch of sweetness.
