Carlo Pinotage 2023 is a premium, small batch expression of South Africas signature red grape, produced by Stellenbosch Family Wines. Rich, polished and unmistakably Stellenbosch, it leans into Pinotages generous dark-fruit character while retaining freshness and structure. The 2023 vintage has also picked up serious recognition: at the 2026 National Wine Challenge, Carlo Pinotage 2023 received Grand Cru National Champion Best in Class, Double Platinum and Top 100 SA Wines honours.

It has additionally been reported at 93 points by Gilbert & Gaillard. This is Pinotage with a bit of swagger: concentrated fruit, savoury spice and a polished oak profile, built to work just as well alongside a good steak as it does as a slow-drinking bottle on its own. Tasting Notes Colour: Deep ruby red with a dark, youthful core.

Nose: Ripe black cherry, plum and dark berries lead, followed by sweet spice, mocha, subtle vanilla and savoury oak. Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with layers of ripe red and black fruit supported by fine tannins. Notes of dark chocolate, coffee, spice and gently toasted oak add depth without losing the wines fruit-driven character.

Finish: Long and structured, with lingering dark fruit, spice and polished oak.
