Cerdak Aerocloth 10 x 10cm consist of a 5 x 5cm pouch filled with micro-porous ceramic spheres, mounted on an adhesive plaster. The pouch is placed against the wound area. While the natural process of wound healing includes the production of wound moisture in the healing process, the role of the ceramic spheres is to lock the moisture away from the wound area.

The moisture is used to mobilize bacteria and other noxious materials from the wound. The physical properties of Cerdak include the binding of bacteria with a charged surface on the ceramic and permanent absorption and sequestration of moisture resulting form a high capillary force.
