Description

Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) 50 User CALs Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) 50 User CALs provides licensing for up to 50 individual users to access a properly licensed Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Services environment. Remote Desktop Services allows organisations to provide users with remote access to Windows desktops, applications, and server resources while applications and data remain centrally hosted and managed on the server infrastructure.

Key Features 50 RDS User CALs Provides Remote Desktop Services access licensing for up to 50 individual users. User-Based Licensing Each CAL is assigned to a specific user rather than a specific device. Multiple Device Access A licensed user can access the RDS environment from different supported devices, subject to Microsoft's licensing terms.

Remote Desktop Sessions Allow licensed users to connect remotely to supported Windows Server session hosts. RemoteApp Support Deliver individual Windows applications remotely without requiring users to work with a complete remote desktop. Centralised Application Management Install and maintain supported applications centrally on your server infrastructure.

Remote Workforce Support Provide authorised employees with access to business resources from different locations. Centralised Desktop Environment Manage supported desktops, applications, and user sessions from central server infrastructure. Scalable Deployment Suitable for businesses requiring remote access for multiple users.

Windows Server 2019 Compatibility Designed for qualifying Windows Server 2019 RDS deployments. What Is an RDS User CAL? An RDS User CAL provides Remote Desktop Services access rights to an individual user. Because the CAL is assigned to the user rather than a specific device, that user can connect to the RDS environment from multiple supported devices, subject to Microsoft's applicable licensing terms.

For example, the same licensed employee may access the server from their: Office desktop Laptop Home computer Thin client Other supported endpoint devices This makes User CALs particularly useful where employees regularly work from more than one device. License Information Product: Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Services CAL Type: RDS User CAL Quantity: 50 User CALs Server Version: Windows Server 2019 Delivery: Digital This package provides RDS access licensing for up to 50 individual users.

Important Windows Server Licence Not Included This product contains Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses only. It does not include Windows Server 2019 Standard or Windows Server 2019 Datacenter and cannot be used as a replacement for the underlying Windows Server operating-system licence.

A properly licensed Windows Server environment is required separately. Windows Server CALs vs RDS CALs An RDS CAL is additional to the normal Windows Server licensing requirements. A typical Remote Desktop Services deployment may require: Windows Server Licence Licenses the Windows Server operating system and applicable server cores.

Windows Server CAL Provides the appropriate user or device with access rights to Windows Server services. RDS CAL Provides the additional rights required for that user or device to access Remote Desktop Services. Therefore, purchasing 50 RDS User CALs does not automatically include 50 standard Windows Server User CALs.

User CAL vs Device CAL This product provides User CALs, not Device CALs. RDS User CALs are generally suitable when individual employees use multiple devices. RDS Device CALs can be more appropriate where multiple employees share a smaller number of computers or terminals, such as factories, warehouses, call centres, or shift-based environments.

Customers should select the CAL model appropriate for their infrastructure. Typical Uses Windows Server 2019 RDS User CALs are suitable for environments such as: Remote employees Remote Desktop Session Hosts Terminal-server environments Centrally hosted applications Accounting software ERP and CRM systems Remo
