The Rossmax Aero Spacers are clear plastic cylinders which are used with an asthma pump. The spacers make it easier to inhale the medication from the MDI, as well as increase the effectiveness of the delivery of medication from the pump. The benefits of this are two-fold: first, inhaling the medication from the MDI (asthma pump) is much easier than without a spacer. There is no need to try to coordinate breathing in at the exact time the MDI is pressed, which is something babies, children, and many adults are unable to do. Second, the medication from the MDI is way more likely to reach the lungs as it is released slower over a few breaths. When all the medication is released at one time, a large amount of it may fall in the mouth and throat, rather than the lungs. The spacer helps deliver the medicine directly into the lungs, instead of the mouth and throat, and therefore increases the effectiveness of the medication by up to 70 percent.

The Rossmax Aero Spacer makes it easier to inhale the medication from the MDI, as well as increases the effectiveness of the delivery of medication from the pump. Instead of inhaling directly from the MDI, a dose from the MDI is puffed into the spacer and then inhaled via the mask of the spacer. The benefits of this are two-fold:1) Inhaling the medication from the MDI (asthma pump) is much easier than without a spacer. There is no need to try to coordinate breathing in at the exact time the MDI is pressed, which is something babies, children and many adults are unable to do. It is very common for asthma patients to use the incorrect inhaling technique with their MDI, and be unaware of this. The patient can simply breathe a few normal breaths whilst the mask is applied to their mouth/ nose. The one-way valve ensures the medication is held in the spacer until the patient breathes it in.2) The medication from the MDI is way more likely to reach the lungs as it is released slower over a few breaths. Replace the chamber if any defect is noticed. 2.Remove cap from both MDI and chamber. When using the mask, insert the mask securely into mouthpiece. 3.Insert the MDI into the back of chamber and shake the MDI and chamber. 4.Put mouthpiece into mouth and close lips around it to ensure a tight seal. Apply the mask to mouth and nose and ensure a tight seal. 5.Breathe out gently. Press the MDI at the beginning of a slow inhalation. Then breathe in slowly and deeply through the mouth until a breath has been taken. Hold the breath for about 5-10 seconds, if possible. Otherwise, keep lips tight on the mouthpiece breathing about 2-3 times through the chamber after pressing the MDI. Breathe out gently. Press the MDI at the beginning of a slow inhalation, and then maintain seal for 5- 6 breaths after pressing the MD 6.
