Hennessy V.S.O.P. is a cognac that is made with a blend of eaux-de-vie that is aged for a period of time. The savoir-faire of the Maison Hennessy is fully expressed in this cognac, which conveys all of the savoir-faire of the Hennessy master blenders. The color of the cognac is mahogany with light tones, and the nose offers notes of fresh fruit and a sensation of suppleness. The palate has flavors of juicy fruits, vanilla, spices, and mild tobacco, which is provided by the vigor of the younger eaux-de-vie.
In 1817, James Hennessy created a unique blend for the future King George IV of England. From the encounter of these two visionaries, was born the first Hennessy "Very Superior Old Pale," know today as Hennessy V.S.O.P.
