This study of Atlantic political relations since World War II uses a comparative perspective to analyse US foreign policy and US European relations in the context of a Western Europe attempting to speak with one voice. This book examines US policy towards European unity and the evolution of a Western European pillar in foreign policy and defense, contrasts US and European approaches toward specific global issues, and considers Atlantic relations in light of the dramatic European upheavals of 1989 and 1990.
William Cronwell is the co-author of Political Problems of Atlantic Partnership .
