Recipe 500g olive oil 100g coconut oil 80g lye 195ml distilled water 10g lavender EO Easy DIY Soap Method Mix the lye into the water (never the other way around!) and leave to cool. Mix in the essential oil and pour into molds. Cover and set aside for 24 to 30 hours, then remove from the molds and let the soap cure for a month, turning daily. Before You Begin (Safety) Important: Sodium hydroxide (lye) is highly caustic before the soap has fully saponified. Always wear gloves and eye protection, work in a well-ventilated area, and add the lye to the waternever the other way around.

Use heat-resistant containers and dedicated utensils that will only be used for soap making. Do not use equipment that has come into contact with lye for food preparation. Keep children and pets away while making soap. Curing Allow the soap to harden for 2430 hours before unmoulding. Cure in a cool, dry place for approximately 4 weeks, turning the bars occasionally.

This allows excess water to evaporate and ensures the soap has fully saponified before use.
