Walker Blenders' Batch NO.2 - Bourbon And Rye Cask

Number two in Johnnie Walkers collectable Blenders Batch series comes with an American twist: Composed from five distilleries including grain whisky from the now-closed Port Dundas, this was aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels before a six month finishing in former American rye whiskey casks. Its inspiration stems from Jim Beveridges time spent blending Bourbons and ryes in Kentucky in the 90s.

Tasting notes: Heather honey sweetness, Belgian waffles, cinnamon, rye spices, creamy vanilla, peppercorn, and dried porcini emerge after the 6-month rye cask finishing period. Sweet caramel oozes over the tongue, Highland toffee and Orkney fudge hold the spices in check. Banana candy and deep citrus acknowledge the Dufftown single malt component.
