Presents a small collection of New and Old Testament Syriac biblical texts drawn from the Philoxenian and Syro-Hexaplar versions. In Remnants of the Later Syriac Versions of the Bible, a two part work originally published in 1909, John Gwynn presented a small collection of New and Old Testament Syriac biblical texts drawn from the Philoxenian and Syro-Hexaplar versions.
Part I consists mainly of texts drawn from sixth century sources and contains revised editions of 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, Jude, and two recensions of John 7:53-8:12. Part 2 contains extracts from Genesis, Leviticus, 1 and 2 Chronicles, and Nehemiah which are drawn from seventh century sources. Both parts are composed of Syriac and Greek texts and accompanied by Gwynn's extensive notes.
