About the Author
Fred Khumalo
is a journalist and editor of theSunday Times'Insight & Opinionsection. A journalism graduate of Technikon Natal in Durban, he has also published many short stories. He was runner up for the 1991 Nadine Gordimer Short Story Award and the 1996 Bertrams VO Literature of Africa Award. He received an honourable mention in the first EU Literary Award (2005). Khumalo's first two books are both bestsellers. His novel,Bitches' Brew, was joint winner of the European Union Award for Fiction in 2006. His non-fiction work,Touch My Blood, was shortlisted for the Alan Paton Award 2007.
