What is CBD Oil?
CBD is one of the 104 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, Cannabis sativa. Unlike THC, which causes the sensation of getting ‘high’ that is often associated with marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive. This therefore, makes it an appealing option for those looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects of marijuana or certain pharmaceutical drugs.
Currently, CBD Oil is used by those looking for more natural way to treat the likes of anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, epilepsy, arthritis and even seizures. There are however a long list of other uses for this unique topical oil. For example, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to reduce sebum production, CBD Oil has also been found to help treat acne.
CBD Oils South Africa:
At the end of May 2019, Cannabidiol was officially been removed from South Africa’s list of highly-controlled drugs. Health minister, Aaron Motsoaledi lowered CBD from Schedule 7 to Schedule 4 on Thursday, 23 May 2019. The minister stated that “low-dose CBD products” will be completely unregulated for the next twelve months.
This change in classification means that low dose CBD preparations are now legal to sell in South Africa. The preparations are legal to sell by anyone, without a prescription.
