July is a great month for Huawei fans, as we’ve seen the Chinese technology company launch three new devices. Launched alongside Huawei’s new entry-level Y6p smartphone, and MatePad T8 tablet, the new Huawei Watch GT 2e smartwatch is the latest in wearable technology from the brand.
The latest addition to Huawei’s popular Watch GT 2 Series, the smartwatch is designed to inspire an active lifestyle. Supported by a two-week-long battery life, the device supports precise heart-rate monitoring, abnormal heart-rate reminders, pressure level monitoring and sleep monitoring features that allow users to understand their health status in real-time. For the first time, Huawei has also introduced a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring feature, which is key for these times when the focus is on respiratory health.
The Huawei Watch GT 2e also sports a new take on smartwatch design. Instead of following traditional look which sees the watch face being separate from its strap, the Watch GT 2e has a classic round dial with an integrated strap for a streamlined, modern look. The multi-functional face also allows the user to customise the settings they want with more than 200 watch faces to choose from.
The Huawei Watch GT 2e supports 15 professional workout modes, including eight outdoor activities such as running, walking, swimming and hiking, and seven indoor activities. In professional workout modes, the watch provides comprehensive monitoring that can track 190 types of data – all to help you get the most out of your workout.
Available in two colours (Mint Green and Graphite Black), the Huawei Watch GT 2e will retail for a recommended retail price of R3,499 in South Africa.
