Description
The book tells the story of a young girl who is sad because her friend died. She asks her father what death is and he tells her that it is the end of life. He explains that when a person dies, their body goes to the ground and the soul leaves the body. The soul can go to a place called Heaven or Hell. The girl is sad to think that her friend might go to Hell, but she is happy to know that her friend's soul will be happy.
Waterbugs and Dragonflies is a graceful fable written by Doris Stickney who sought a meaningful way to explain to neighborhood children the death of a five-year-old friend. The small book is beautifully illustrtated by artist Gloria Ortiz Hernandez.
