Distilled at Oude Molen, nestled in the heart of the Cape winelands, carries a storied history of crafting internationally-acclaimed, French-inspired brandy. The 3 blends in this VSOP are a 4 year old that brings the caramel and toffee that South Africans expect from their brandy; a 5 year old has the cognac notes of dark fruit like prunes with apricot. It is finished off with a 7 year with its smooth, delicate vanilla notes that single malt scotch drinkers know so well.Using the pot stilling method to extract maximum flavour and undergoing multiple distillations for smoothness,the brandy is then perfected in French oak barrels that enhance its velvety mouthfeel. The result is a brandy that's both delicate and smooth, with unfolding notes of vanilla, the sweetness of citrus fruits and ripe peaches, and the warmth of caramel.
