Description
Walker & Sons Xr 21 Year Old is a special blend of rare whiskies, created to honor Sir Alexander Walker II's knighthood in 1920. It is made from a reserve of exclusive whiskies that have been aged for 21 years and has a balanced and elegant flavor with layers of intensity. The blend includes notes of honey, spices, smoke, citrus, tropical fruits, caramel, tobacco, and raisins, and has a long and smooth finish. It is recommended to be enjoyed neat, but can also be mixed with soda water. The bottle size is 750ml and the alcohol content is 40%.
Alexander Walker II was a master blender like his father and his grandfather before him, who devoted his life to making exceptional whiskies.
In 1920, he received a knighthood from King George V for his services to the nation.
John Walker & Sons XR 21 was created to honour this very special occasion. Inspired by Sir Alexanders own hand-written notes, it is blended from the exclusive Johnnie Walker reserve of rare whiskies, all of which have been matured for a full 21 years.
Assured, balanced and elegant, it has intriguing layers of intensity that are both surprising and delightful. Sweet honey and tempered spices come cloaked in warming smoke. Citrus zest, ripened tropical fruits and caramel swirl within hints of tobacco and raisins. The long, smooth, soothing finish is complex and fascinating - a myriad of influences played out over a subtle tapestry of peatiness.
Enjoy John Walker & Sons XR 21 year old in any way you like, but we recommend taking it neat. Add 45 ml to a whisky tumbler and accompany with a glass of chilled, freshly-siphoned soda water.
