This is a 12x12 inch sandstone panel with a silk screened ground formulation. It is lightweight, dimensionally stable, and accepts water, mineral spirits, and turpentine applications. The white surface is perfect for underpainting techniques with pastels, but is also compatible with oil sticks, oil media, and colored pencils.
This Pastel Artist Panel has a proprietary ground formulation that is silk screened directly on to the panel to create a consistent working surface. The panel is lightweight yet rigid, non-warping, dimensionally stable and accepts water, mineral spirits and turpentine applications. The white surface is perfect for underpainting techniques. While primarily it is best used with pastels, this surface is compatible with oil sticks, oil media and coloured pencils. The thin and lightweight surface makes it perfect for plein-air.
