Thermal transfer labels offer greater durability and better longevity than direct thermal labels. They use a ribbon to print and will therefore not fade when exposed to heat or sunlight the way direct thermal labels can.
Thermal transfer paper labels are used for short to medium term labelling. Semi-gloss is typically used for item pricing and similar labelling applications.
