Description
This is a description of an energy conversion kit that includes a number of different units that can be used to show the conversion of energy from one form to another. The kit includes a double pole switch/triple lamp unit, a large electric motor/generator unit, a small electric motor/generator unit, a flywheel unit, a line shaft unit, a spring unit, a friction calorimeter unit, a head of water unit, a steam engine unit, and drive belts. Some optional extras include a low voltage power supply, a DC ammeter, and a thermometer.
TheEnergy Conversion Kitcomprises of a number of separately available units which enables the user to show qualitatively the conversion of energy from one form to another in a variety of ways. The uniquely designed jig on the lamp unit enables the different units to be easily joined to each other. This also ensures a precise alignment of pulleys and drive belts which enhances the efficiency of the system.
The kit consists of the following interchangeable units:
