This essay discusses the Ottoman Empire's diplomatic relations with Hungary in the early 19th century. The Ottoman Empire was interested in expanding its influence in Hungary, as it was a key territory in the eastern part of the empire. The Ottoman Empire attempted to gain favor with the Hungarian nobility by sponsoring religious and cultural events. The Ottoman Empire also attempted to gain favor with the Hungarian government by providing military support during the Napoleonic Wars.
