The base shaper is made of black plastic and is unbreakable. It has a bit less flex than the 1/16" clear acrylic and is 3 times lighter. It can be bent in half without breaking where acrylic breaks at the same stress level. The base shaper has a nice textured side and a smooth side. All corners and edges are rounded and designer ready so it doesn't damage your liner.
