The Purest Audio CAS-B9 is a conductive anti-static record cleaning brush that effectively removes dust from records by dissipating static electricity. It features a large ergonomic handle and conductive silver contacts to ensure proper electrical connection and prevent static buildup. Unlike other brushes, it has a wide conductive bristle area that covers the entire width of the record's groove. The kit also includes a Purest Audio RCS-908 record cleaning mat, which is made from a soft material to protect records and can be used with both wet and dry cleaning methods. It is not recommended to put records on a turntable while using the brush, as the electrical field between the turntable and vinyl can cause the charge to go to the bottom side of the record. It is important not to touch the conductive fibers with fingers, as natural oils can compromise the cleaning process. The cleaning mat can accommodate 12-inch records and 78s and is suitable for use with brushes or sprays.
