Description
The Aquatic Arts 1 Live Gold Mystery Snail is a freshwater snail that has dual benefits of adding color to an aquarium and acting as a cleaner. It consumes uneaten fish food and other waste, cleans algae off of aquarium surfaces, and filters substrate. It is safe to keep with nonaggressive fish, shrimp, and plants. The snail grows up to 3 inches in diameter and has a bright yellow shell and pearly white body with iridescent markings. It is more active and playful compared to other freshwater snails and can grow quickly. It is important to monitor copper levels in the tank as snails are sensitive to it. The Mystery Snail is not the same species as the invasive Apple Snail and should not be confused with it. Care guidelines include a temperature range of 68-84 F, a pH of 7.6-8.4, and a minimum tank size of 2.5 gallons per snail. Copper is toxic to snails and other invertebrates, so it is important to avoid any aquarium products that contain it.

Size:1-SNAIL Our Gold Mystery Snail has dual benefits it will add a burst of color to your aquarium and also acts as a fish tank cleaner! This gold aquarium snail consumes uneaten fish food and other waste, plus it cleans algae off of aquarium glass, plants, and decorations. It also eats hair algae and filters substrate to keep it the correct color. This peaceful snail grows large as an adult, growing up to 3 inches in diameter, and is safe with any nonaggressive fish, shrimp, or plants.Golden Mystery Snail shells are a bright, cheery golden yellow color, making them living fish tank decorations. Their bodies are pearly white with breathtaking iridescent markings. Compared to other freshwater snails, Mystery Snails are characteristically more active and playful and can often be seen scaling aquarium walls, extending their antennae in search of food, and climbing up the aquarium pump to the water line to breathe oxygen. Because of this, ensure the water line in your aquarium is low enough or keep a tank lid in place so your snails cannot escape. We often ship smaller sized (.25 to 1.5 inches) snails so you can enjoy them longer and watch them grow. A young Mystery Snail can double in size over the course of two weeks to months. All freshwater snails are sensitive to copper, so please monitor your copper levels if you use tap water in your tank.NOTE: Contrary to what some websites state, Mystery Snails are NOT the same species as Apple Snails. Apple Snails are an invasive species and illegal to own in the United States. Our Mystery Snails do not grow to the tremendous size that Apple Snails do (often as big as an apple).CARE GUIDELINES:- Temperature: 68 - 84 F (20 - 29 C)- pH: 7.6 - 8.4- KH: 2 - 15 dKH- Minimum tank size: 2.5 gallons per snail- Average adult size: 2.5 - 3+ inches (5 - 7.6+ cm)- Average purchase size: .25 - 1.5 inches (1.3 - 5 cm)- WARNING: Copper is toxic to snails and other invertebrates.
