Description
The Zonda 1223M Alto Saxophone is a European-made saxophone that is made with cane from the Zonda Pass in the Andes Mountains. The saxophone is hand-crafted and is made with European-grown cane. The saxophone is also made without pesticides, which is important to the Zonda Pass.
Zonda reeds take their name from the hot wind that races through the Zonda Pass in the Andes Mountains. The Zonda whips the growing cane back and forth, strengthening its fibers. These European cane rootstocks have flourished since colonial times in a region which has become famous for award-winning wines. Under the stewardship of two generations of the Gonzales family, the Zonda cane is painstakingly cultivated in a pesticide-free environment, then aged and hand-selected.
