The Powerman Surge Protection - SPD-02 is a lightning and surge protection for both mains and telephone lines are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on all modems, fax machines, cordless telephones and any units that use a combination of electricity and telecommunications.

The PowerMan SPD range of lightning and surge protection units, are designed to protect equipment against spikes and surges.
A spike is an instantaneous severe increase in voltage (normally 100 % more than nominal voltage). Electronic equipment in the path of a severe spike can expect to have blown components in the power section. Typically a spike would be caused by either a lightning storm or when power is restored after a failure.
The PowerMan SPD units offer the most cost effective form of protection, and are usually purchased to provide a buffer against lightning. Combination units are available to protect both the power and telephone lines.
