Description
This is a description of Schmincke Oil Bronze powders, which are used to create iridescent metal effects on oil paintings or other pre-primed surfaces. The powders are mixed with a bronze medium, which contains cumarone resin. If the surface is to be worked on with absorbent materials, such as paper, thinned bronze medium should be used beforehand. The powders will dry to a wipe-able and water-resistant finish, but will remain soluble to turpentine or a turpentine substitute after drying.
These Schmincke Oil Bronze powders are perfect for creating
iridescent metal effects on oil paintings or other pre-primed
surfaces, such as wood or metal. You will need to add a bronze
medium containing cumarone resin. If you are working on absorbent
surfaces, we suggest you pre-treat the surface with a turpentine
substitute with some thinned bronze medium.How to use: Mix 3
parts Oil-Bronze and 2 parts bronze medium with a painting knife -
shortly before application. If necessary, thin with a turpentine
substitute.It will dry to a wipe and water-resistant finish,
however colour layers with remain soluble to turpentine or a
turpentine substitute after drying.
