Bicycle Power Meters originated in the nineties and recently Power Meters have moved from being professional only equipment to affordable training aids for amateur racers and keen recreational riders. When used properly, a Power Meter gives you vital information that can vastly improve your training and pacing thus assisting you in becoming a better rider.

Although the Power Meter has been developed for a few years, it is still a reliable professional only piece of equipment for the high-level riders hence the retail prices are at a hefty price. Owing to this, many cyclists have opted not to invest in a Power Meter. Ronde aims to develop a reasonably priced Power Meter which has a competitive function & accuracy against other famous brands (Shimano, Powertap, etc.).


The Ronde Power Meter is a crank-based Power Meter which is easy to install and contains a series of Tension Meters / Sensors that measure the magnitude of the force applied by the rider on every pedal stroke. A signal is the sent through the accelerometer which detects the movement frequency of the rider (such as cadence), and then the data is transmitted to the GPS device for the rider to review. Data is transmitted via ANT+ wireless technology to most GPS devices and is easy to pair with.
