FIFA 18 Ultimate Team is a mode in the game FIFA 18 where you can build your dream squad. You can play matches, earn rewards, and upgrade your squad. There are a range of packs available in Ultimate Team, and they can be purchased using either of the games two forms of in-game currency: FIFA Points or Coins. FIFA Points are available for purchase either directly on your console as well as at select retailers. Coins, however, can only be earned in-game and are never available for purchase. Earn coins by playing matches, completing challenges, or selling players on the transfer market. With thousands of players available in Ultimate Team, you can build your team just the way you want it. All player items have a base type, which is based on a players Overall Rating. There are three tiers of base player items: Bronze (OVR 0-64), Silver (65-74), or Gold (75+). These base player items are divided further into two rarity types: Common or Rare. FUT ICONS is a feature in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team where you can experience unique versions of each ICON with Stories, featuring items for milestone career moments. Squad Battles is a new mode in FIFA 18 where you can compete and earn rewards.
