The radios also have a scan function that allows them to be tuned to a specific channel. The radios also have a CTCSS/DCS (Clear-Text-Code-Subscriber-Status/Data-Cable-System) function that allows for voice communication. The radios also have a time-out timer and a low battery alert. The radios also have a squelch function that allows for privacy when talking.
