Plugged it into our computer, plugged in a network cable, and we'll have a great wired internet connection instead of the slower, wireless connection. Plus it has lights on it so we know it is working. This was great because we use our Tablets to watch Netflix or Hulu Plus through it so we needed a good internet connection. Plug and play
