What is SnapScan?

SnapScan is a mobile payment system that connects with your debit or credit card and enables you to pay for goods without carrying cash. All you need to do is install the app, fill in your details, choose a PIN and you’re ready! Simply open the app, scan the barcode and follow the on screen prompts. It couldn’t be simpler.

SnapScan is available on Android, iOS and Blackberry.

What is Pargo?

We all know the feeling of waiting for deliveries, chasing waybills and the like, but Pargo is the ingenious solution that brings your online purchases to pick up points near you. It’s as easy as shopping online, buying the goods you want, choose a Pargo pick up point on checkout, and it’s done. You can then simply sit back and wait for a confirmation that your parcel is ready for collection.

How will SnapScan, Pargo and PriceCheck work together?

Shoppers will be able to browse for products on PriceCheck and once decided what to buy, they will be able to pay for their chosen products with SnapScan. While completing the SnapScan checkout process, instead of choosing a delivery address, shoppers will be prompted to select a Pargo collection point that is most convenient to them. This will all happen in the SnapScan app, so that there can be no confusion. There are four simple steps to a transaction as illustrated and explained below.

  1. Open the SnapScan app, scan the barcode of the product you would like on PriceCheck, choose a pickup point, and complete the transaction. Once this is done you will be notified that your purchase has been paid for and that delivery is being arranged.
  2. Pargo will then collect the parcel on your behalf and drop it off at your chosen pickup point.
  3. Once your product arrives at the chosen pickup point, you will be notified that it's ready for collection.
  4. This entire process will only take between 24 – 48 hours.

FAQs

  • I don’t have SnapScan, what now?
    Simply visit your app store of choice, Android, iOS or Blackberry and download the app.

How much will Pargo cost?

  • Pargo charges a flat R49 delivery fee.

How long does Pargo keep the order at the collection point before it gets returned to the Merchant?

  • 8 days. So you always have a weekend to collect. We also send two reminders (after day 2 and day 5)

What do you need to collect your parcel?

  • See email which we sent in the attachment. You need a the PargoCode and your ID (which is in line with the name on the parcel)

Can somebody else collect the product on my behalf?

  • Yes! If you have the PargoCode and the ID of the person which is presented on the parcel

Can you buy items from two different merchants and have them delivered as one parcel at one pickup point?

  • Consolidation is not possible because you pay upfront and that includes delivery cost.

Is there a size limit on parcels to be delivered via Pargo?

  • No.

Does Pargo deliver over weekends?

  • In general not. Some drivers work on Saturday.
