With news of the full Huawei P40 range dropping globally soon, tech lovers are eager to get their hands on the new smart devices from the Chinese manufacture. While it may still be some time before the flagship models reach out shores, South Africans can already get their hands on the first device in the Huawei P40 series, the Huawei P40 Lite. Promoted as being more elegant, powerful, sophisticated and robust than its predecessors, Huawei says the P40 Lite has been specifically engineered to offer an unparalleled entertainment experience.
Available in South Africa as of the 18th of May 2020, the Huawei P40 Lite is the second Huawei smartphone to launch in SA that comes with Huawei’s HMS ecosystem. With a 6.4-inch Punch FullView Display, 90.6% screen-to-body ratio and 48MP quad camera, the handset is being marketed as device that is all about creating and viewing high-quality visuals.
The camera’s four lenses allow you to capture high-resolution, ultra-wide, macro and portrait shots on the go without the need for a top-of-the-range professional camera. Huawei has also made improvements in the devices ability to capture images in low-light with the Super Night Mode 2.0 feature, which is supported by both the front and rear cameras. This technology brightens dark areas, enhances skin tones and facial features, and reduces noise, to create crisp and beautiful shots of everything from starry skies to late-night selfies.
The devices video functionality is also impressive and the device features a powerful AI video editor to make editing easier. The video editor can intelligently trim footage, add background music, and easily incorporate various transition effects. The smartphone’s video editing tools enable you to shoot, edit and upload your videos and vlogs in a matter of minutes.
Powered by the Kirin 810, a high-end 7nm chipset, which is integrated with a Mali G52 GPU, theP40 lite boasts excellent graphics processing capabilities while also supporting lower power consumption and long-lasting battery life with a 4200MAh battery and 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge support for quicker charging.
With the Lite versions of P series smartphones proving wildly popular in South Africa in previous years, this new iteration is likely to receive a similar reception. The P40 lite will be available at a recommended retail price of R6,499 in South Africa.
