0

Great news for gamers looking for a fantastic gaming experience with immersive, crisp picture and sound. Sony is gearing up to take your gaming experience on the PS5 to new weights with the announcement of its ‘Perfect for PlayStation5’ campaign for Bravia XR TVs. Specially designed to work perfectly with Sony’s PS5, the brand says its Bravia XR TVs deliver stunningly realistic pictures, complemented by unique sound technology to put you right in the heart of the action whether you’re playing a game or watching a movie.

Sony’s ‘Perfect for PlayStation 5’ TVs will bring in two brand-new PS5 exclusive features – Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode. They also support frame rates up to 120fps in a super-crisp 4K resolution as specified in HDMI 2.1 in compatible games. Additionally, with input lag as low as 6.0ms on the Z9J models, gamers can achieve extraordinary smoothness and responsiveness in first-person shooter, sports and high-performance games with instant on-screen action.

With Auto HDR Tone Mapping*, the HDR settings will be optimised instantly during your PS5 initial setup. The PS5 will automatically recognise individual Bravia TV models and select the best HDR setting for the TV accordingly. With the optimised HDR tone mapping level to your Bravia display specification, you’ll see crucial details and colours even in high contrast scenes.

For instance, Sony points out that PS5 gamers playing Gran Turismo 7 will get the addition of detailed objects on the track, giving you that added bit of detail so you know just how to make your next move.

*Software updates on both PS5 and Bravia are required. Available by the end of January 2022.

Auto Genre Picture Mode

Bravia XR TVs can detect whether you are playing a game or watching movies and shows. With Sony’s Auto Genre Picture Mode**, your TV will automatically switch into Game Mode when gaming. This mode will help to minimise input lag to make the action more responsive. Similarly, when you’re watching movies via a streaming service or from an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc on the PS5, the TV will shift to Standard Mode which shifts focus to picture processing for a more expressive picture.

**Auto Genre Picture Mode will be available via future software updates on PS5 and Bravia TVs by the end of January 2022.
