This was my first dealing with Merkado and must say I am happy with their service. When quarrying delivery I was answered efficiently and satisfactory. Big thumbs up.
I ordered and paid of a pair of watches. Received a confirmation of payment from Merkado on 31/01/'18 & a promise to deliver in 7 to 21 days.
Over a month later with no delivery. None of their contact numbers work. I logged into my Merkado account. My order was listed as refund. No refund has been done.
I checked HelloPeter and found MANY similar bad experiences.
I sent off an email to their customer service on the 27th Feb asking that they refund and received no reply.
I purchased items from Merkado on 1 February 2018 after seeing the item on Price Check. To date I have not received the items and after numerous unanswered emails received notice that the items have not arrived. Yet, when I browse their website the items are still listed as being "in stock". I though I am quite internet savvy and with Merkado being listed as a trusted site on Price Check, with a listed SA address and phone numbers (now out of order) I thought they were ok. I was clearly wrong!
Be VERY careful ever ordering from these guys - you order and confirm payment and then they merely lie and mess you around regarding your order for over a month, after which they then kick your order back as unpaid (when I paid over a month ago)
Was promised delivery two weeks ago, then a week ago - IF you manage to ever get hold of the one useless service person - fobbed me off by saying they had "shipment delays to all flammable goods orders" (!?) and now they have lost all record of it.
My brother bought a playhouse for my daughter , still hasn't come and they giving us problems about sending it !! Horrible

I purchased an item from Merkado a month ago. It has still not arrived. I have emailed them and called them on a number of occasions without any response. I am assuming this is a scam and the cash is lost
It would seem that I can't edit my previous review of 22.1.2017 ("Don't shop here!"), so will add a new one. I was phoned by a Merkado representative today and offered a R200 voucher as an apology for the bad service that I received. This does slightly improve my opinion of them, however they only contacted me more than five weeks later... I guess it's better than nothing. Thanks for the gesture, Merkado.
I have received great service from Merkado. I recieved my goods within the 7-10 working days delivery period and was kept up to date all the time regarding my order via email. And they phoned me afterwards to make sure I have received my package and I was happy. I will definitely make use of Merkado in the future.
