Description
This is a short story about four friends who have a party shortly after Johannes Kerkorrel's suicide in 2002. They were all students at the time and Voelvry-Io was happening. They were young, drank and rebels. Now they are suburbanites and more resentful. The death of their university friend Johnny still remains a mystery - something that has been happening for four years every year. This is an intelligently constructed story that portrays the tumultuous late-20th century in South Africa convincingly. This was the time when the South African police became aware and when the war between the two countries had a devastating effect on thousands of young duty-bound people.
