Description
What is it?
Groperl is essentially a form of natural glass. Generically, it is known as Perlite. It is extremely lightweight and can retain vast quantities of water. Root growth in pure Groperl is excellent and it is extremely hospitable to mycorrhizal fungi. Groperl is used throughout the world as a component of soilless growing mixes where it provides aeration and optimum moisture retention leading to superior plant growth. It has a neutral pH, is sterile and of course weed-free. It is very useful in all container plant cultivation including specialist bonsai trees.
How to use?
If using Groperl as an ingredient in a growing medium, ensure that either the other components combined with it are virtually non-absorbent, or Groperl forms no more than 20% of the total mix. Groperl is the ideal component to be used in conjunction with Leca or Vermiculite from our Bonsai range.
As a rooting medium for cuttings, Groperl can be used straight from the bag, in a suitable container.
