This tropical looking palm-like plant with its arching sword-like leaves is a great choice for containers. It is best suited as a foliage plant to provide height and contrast to your garden or container, however under good growing conditions it can be a wonderful focal point. Although it can eventually reach 4.5 to 6 meters in height, it generally only grows to 60 to 90 cm in containers. Mature specimens will bear fragrant creamy-white blossoms in mid-Spring. Blue Dracaena thrives in a seacoast exposure but does very poorly where summers are hot and dry.
