Description
LILAC TREE Syringa oblate Syringa oblata is a non-invasive large shrub or small tree, 300 to 350cm tall, related to S.vulgaris. New foliage has a bronze cast to it, changing to dark green, light red to red purple in the fall. Unusual among the lilacs in having any autumn color. Flowers are pale lilac, to purple-lilac, on 50 to 125 mm panicles. The flowers are very fragrant. Native to China. It also makes an excellent bonsai. View our other items by clicking on the shield:
