The genus is absent from Australia. Though somewhat reminiscent of willows (Salix) in their habitus, they are not particularly close relatives of these.Combretum collinum is a small to medium-sized, semi-deciduous tree 4-12 m in height, with a rounded or flat, heavy crown. Young shoots are densely covered with short, soft hairs.
