The album "Mother's Milk" was released by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1989. After the death of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak and subsequent departure of drummer Jack Irons, vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea regrouped with the help of new guitarist John Frusciante. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has been certified platinum by the RIAA.
