The PLAY:3 uses 3 state-of-the-art digital amplifiers individually coupled with 3 speakers to deliver pure, clean sound to any room. A bass radiator produces powerful low notes while two mid-range drivers and one tweeter fills out the sound.
Sonos will now operate across your existing WiFi network. If you have a great WiFi signal at home, simply set up a Sonos speaker wirelessly on your home WiFi network using the free Sonos controller app. This then allows you to enjoy your Sonos speakers in perfect sync, in every room.
If your home WiFi network isnt quite reliable enough, Sonos offers a dedicated wireless network, eliminating interference and increasing range. You simply connect a Sonos Bridge to your router to create a completely separate wireless network. This then runs independently to your WiFi network, erradicating any interference from non-Sonos wireless devices.
The Sonos Play:3 is a wireless network music player that gives you access to your entire music library and more, from anywhere in your home, with a performance that belies it's compact size. Its diminutive proportions make it ideal for use in bedrooms or kitchens, but don't let its size fool you. Inside are three digital amplifiers, twin woofers, a high tweeter and a bass radiator which together delivery a surprisingly full, detailed and hugely enjoyable sound.
Wherever you put it, the Play:3 will stream your music collection over your home network and also give you access to thousands of Internet radio stations and Napster, so you'll never be short of something to listen to. The Spotify service is also now available on Sonos, putting over 8 million tracks at your finger tips. All you need to do is create a Spotify Premium account, and you'll be able to access Spotify's huge on-line library. No more ripping CDs or waiting for music to download, simply stream from Spotify (see the video on the right). And it's all controllable from your smartphone or computer.
The Play:3 is the perfect addition to an existing Sonos system but can also be used as a stand alone player. Either plug your Play:3 into your Internet router, or plug a Sonos ZoneBridge into your router to enable easy, wireless hookup of one or more Sonos players. Two Play:3s can even be placed in same room and configured as a wireless stereo pair.
But why stop there? You can enjoy music in every room with additional ZonePlayers. In addition, you can also add the WD100 Wireless iPod Dock to your Sonos system for easy streaming of your portable tunes. The Play:3 is also designed to perform equally well horizontally or vertivally, thanks to it's audio equalization, allowing it to be placed almost anywhere.
You can control the Play:3 via a freely available app available for the iPhone/iPod Touch, iPad or Android phones and tablets (see the video below). Alternatively there's also the Sonos Controller software for PC and Mac computers which comes free with every player (ideal for laptops), and the dedicated, optional CR200 wireless touchscreen controller.
