Description
(This title is available on demand : expected date of dispatch will be 4-7 working days once ordered)
Saturday Night at the Palace was first performed Upstairs at the Market Theatre, Johannesburg, in 1982 and was directed by Bobby Heany. It was then staged in London at the Old Vic Theatre in 1984. The cast is made up of three characters, namely September; a black waiter, Vince; a would-be soccer star and Forsie; his friend. The play is set at a run down drive-in road-house somewhere between Benoni and Brakpan, South Africa. The language in the play is an intricate mix of Zulu, English and Afrikaans, making full use of South Africanisms such as zoll and lekker.
