HP Jetdirect 2800w NFC/Wireless Direct Accessory

I tested the 2800w's NFC capabilities using the ElitePad 900. NFC lets you print simply by opening HP's ePrint Windows driver (available as a free download for Windows Vista, 7, and 8, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) on the tablet, choosing NFC, and then touching the tablet to the 2800w. It worked without a hitch. It's a good thing that HP lent us an ElitePad 900, as with all other devices you're currently limited to HP Wireless Direct.
HP Wireless Direct Printing
To test Wireless Direct printing with the 2800w, I installed HP's ePrint app on my iPhone, then went into the phone's Wi-Fi settings. Along with the usual Wi-Fi networks was an entry for our test printer, the HP M775dn. Tapping it enabled a Wireless Direct connection between printer and phone. From there I went to the ePrint app, selected the printer, and called up items to print. You can choose Photos, Web, Email (which lets you print messages and/or attachments), or Cloud (which supports printing from Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Facebook, Google Drive, and OneDrive). As with NFC, I was able to print without any problems.
