While salt may be the spice of life …good for taste and preserving, it certainly is not the skiboaters friend or for that matter, any salt-water sport lover using inboard/outboard or jet engines.
The good news is that this age-old enemy has finally met its match in the aptly named Salt Assassin, a great new SABS-approved product now available from Lowrance South Africa.
This water-based treatment can be used while flushing an engine’s cooling system. Salt Assassin breaks down and removes salt and corrosion, leaving the motor rust-free and protected.
To treat over-heating from salt build-up, an engine can be flushed sequentially every 24 hours, two to six times, depending on the severity of the situation. To prevent build-up it is advisable to flush an engine with the product after every use in water.
Plugged into a trigger spray, even valuable fishing equipment and tackle can be cleaned with Salt Assassin. In fact salt can be removed safely from any surface including magnesium, aluminium, steel, copper, brass, plastic and any areas exposed to salt.
You can even use it to wash your car, particularly if it has been exposed to salt water or is parked outside in the sea air. It does not strip wax or bond to surfaces and is 100% non-hazardous, non-toxic and biodegradable.
