The lens elements are made of lead-free, extra-low dispersion (ED), calcium-fluoride glass to correct for chromatic aberrations, increase contrast, and improve color rendition. Additionally, they are multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections. These coatings are highly reflective and minimize the loss of light while further boosting contrast and color fidelity. To further ensure sharpness and accurate color across the entire visible spectrum, this spotting scope features BAK4 prisms and an eyepiece with rare earth element–coated lenses. The highly refractive BAK4 prisms minimize spherical aberrations for increased edge-to-edge sharpness and help improve depth of view.
