Double Cask 12YO is a whisky that is medium-full-bodied with a fat midsection and sweet, syrupy peach, orange marmalade and cider-apple fruit as well as toffee set against a firm backbone and a charred, smoky essence. It has a sweet nose that showcases chocolate, along with sherry fruits and nuttiness. The palate has a drier, spicier oak influence on it, with lemon oil, all backed by a trail-mix bag assortment of dried sugary fruits and nuts. The finish begins with citrus zest and spice, along with more oak, before turning into milk chocolate and more rich dark, dried fruits.
