The unit also has a built-in PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) program, commonly referred to as Magic Temperature Compensation. The program is cycled every 20 milliseconds to detect the actual temperature of the soldering iron heating element/welding head and to quickly correct it by quickly returning to the correct set temperature. This magical temperature compensation technology also helps keep the soldering iron at a constant temperature, no matter what kind of work you do. The unit also features a self-test feature that is completely intelligent for overheating, short circuits and overloads.
