This product does not include any batteries. The SPS-1000 battery compartment requires 2 x 100Ah 12V batteries. DEEP CYCLE batteries only. Battery installation is simple with instructions and cables supplied. We supply 12V 100Ah Deep Cycle Gel batteries for the Smart Power Systems on EcoDepot. The SPS-1000 can typically run a modern flat screen LCD TV(100W), a laptop(50W), a DSTV decoder(50W) and a low energy lamp(20W) for about 10 hours. All devices plugged into the SPS-1000 are protected from damaging surges and spikes.
In addition, the SPS-1000 has a built-in solar controller for OPTIONAL solar connection. A solar panel is not included. A solar panel is not needed to run the SPS but it can be added at any time to charge the batteries or provide power to any device plugged in. The solar function can operate alongside or completely free of mains power. If the power ever fails for longer than a few hours, the SPS, connected to a solar panel, could supply vital free electricity, day after day.
