More efficient than metal, but allowing a bit more through than paper, it does provide a special character in the cup. Cloth filters are also reusable, for up to 50-100 brews if you take good care of them. However, they do eventually accumulate too much coffee residue. For best results, store your filter assembly submerged in water in the refrigerator, taking it out when you're ready to use it.
