Doctor Zhivago is a novel by Boris Pasternak. It was originally published in 1957 and tells the story of Yuri Zhivago, a Russian doctor during World War One. Yuri is in love with Tonya, but is also attracted to Lara, a dressmaker's daughter. The novel is set in Moscow during World War One and tells the story of Yuri's love life and the Russian Revolution. The TV adaptation of Doctor Zhivago was produced by Andrew Davies and aired on BBC in 1998.
